About the Director

JON ENGSTROM

Jon returns to the Norris after having directed and choreographed the highly acclaimed productions of “WIZARD OF OZ,” “DISNEY’S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL”, “OLIVER”, “BYE BYE BIRDIE” & “42ND STREET” as well as the 2005 & 2006 productions of “RISING STARS.” Other productions include: “THE DESERT SONG”, “MY ONE AND ONLY”, “ANNIE GET YOUR GUN”, “THEY’RE PLAYING OUR SONG”, “DAMN YANKEES”, “WEST SIDE STORY”, “EVITA”, “FIDDLER ON THE ROOF”, “GUYS AND DOLLS”, “THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES”, “MY FAIR LADY”, “NO, NO, NANETTE”, “INTO THE WOODS”, “OLIVER”, “OKLAHOMA”, “SWEET CHARITY”, “CAN-CAN” & “BRIGADOON”. Jon’s efforts have been acknowledged by numerous awards, which include: 8 Drama-Logue Awards, & 4 Robby Awards. He went on to become a soloist with San Francisco Ballet. Jon was a featured dancer in five Broadway musicals: “NO, NO, NANETTE”, “THE PAJAMA GAME”, “VERY GOOD EDDIE”, “WHOOPIE!” & “42ND STREET & two National Tours: “CHICAGO” & “SEESAW”. Jon has been fortunate to work with such notable director/choreographers as: Gower Champion, Bob Fosse, Michael Bennett, Donald Saddler, Donald McKayle, Alan Johnson & Danny Daniels. Jon is a member of The Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
